Filippos Peristeris was born in Athens. He studied piano, accordion and organ and he also holds diplomas in harmony, counterpoint, fugue, classical composition and music composition for film and theatre. He studied cultural sciences (Hellenic Open University), he is a master student in architecture (National Technical University of Athens) and Dr. of N.T.U.A in philosophy (aesthetics). He has composed symphonic music for small and large orchestral ensembles and original scores for more than 60 theatre performances, 16 feature and short films and more than 100 recorded songs. He has been awarded four national and six international prizes for film composing. He taught undergraduate and graduate courses at NTUA and UOA as assistant several times. Essays have been published in books and magazines
