Aspassia Kouzoupi

Dipl. Architect, MAS.ETH Landscape Architect, Visual Artist ASFA. Post-Doctoral fellow, NTUA. She teaches landscape design, theory, and experiential mapping, as an Adjunct Lecturer and/or PhD fellow, at the Universities of Thessaly and Patras, since 2007. Founding member of the team “Sculpted Architectural Landscapes”, along with landscape sculptor Nella Golanda: since 2000 they design and realize mostly urban scale landscape architecture projects, at urban and peri-urban sites. Some of these projects were finalists for European Prizes [Rosa Barba Award 2000/ European Prize for Urban public Space 2004]. Besides designing and planning landscape at scales from 1:1 up to regional scales, her research investigates various time-scales expressed through processes into landscape. Her PhD investigates among other spatial perceptive modes, the concepts of ‘map’ and ‘sign’, into the Homeric Odyssey. Her visual art projects include the series “Hybrid Signs”, an installation into the urban fabric of Saint Tropez [Cultural Summer 2007, Curator: Suzanne Van-Hagen], and the “Complex Signs” [exhibited at Zoumboulakis Galleries in her solo exhibition ,7-28 February 2013], as well as the series ‘Signs and Maps of the Far Side of Earth’s Moon” [only partly exhibited at Art Athina 2014: Commissioner Artemis Potamianou, curator of ‘out of the box’ exhibition Sozita Goudouna]. Her multifaceted work and research is featured in international publications of architecture, landscape, and art.
