Spyros Verykios

Spyros Verykios was born in Lefkada in 1966. He studied painting at the ASFA (1985–1991). He holds the ASFA Master of Fine Arts (2004–2006). He attended directing seminars in the New York Film Academy (2007) and script writing in EKEBI (2007) and Mediadesk (2006). He has done 6 solo painting exhibition and participated in 25 group exhibitions including 4 Biennale: Young Mediterranean Artists / Spain (1991), Big Torino / Italy (2000), Tunis / Tunisia (2002), Beijing Biennale (1996). He has organized 6 group exhibitions of visual arts: Pornography (1997), Cinema Inspires Visual Artists (2000), Eatable Art (2001), Mickey meets art (2004), Love will tear us apart (2006). His work includes illustrations of magazines, children’s books and comics. His stories have been published in Greece, England, Slovenia, Italy, Sweden and the USA. Since 1996, he has worked in film animation productions in England and Greece. He teaches at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University.
