Grand Opening
On Friday 21 June, in the odorless light of the evening, the visual exhibition “APOPLOUS, The Invisible Cities and the Cities of Ionian Sea: The Art + Speeches of Greek Writers with Calvino” was inaugurated in Corfu’s Frontier Storehouses.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by artists, academics and public figures such as the director of the Corfu Treasury Department, Tenia Rigakou, the mayor of Corfu Constantine Nikolouzos, the city council president Maria Mouzakitis, the regional councilor Kostas Karvounis, the assistant professor of the Ionian Andreas Kapetanios University, and so on.
The exhibition will be open until Sunday, 7 July 2019 and is open to the public throughout the day from 10.30 AM until 22.30 PM.

Exhibition identity – Coefficients
The Exhibition APOPLOS, The Invisible Cities and Cities June Ports: Art + Speeches of Greek Writers with Calvino was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sport, the General Directorate of Contemporary Culture, as part of the “POLYSEMI Park of Literary Travels in Greece and Magna Graecia “of the European Operational Program INTERREG V-A Greece Italy 2014-2020.
The editing (design, implementation, scientific documentation) of the exhibition had the architect and visual artist Dr. Efrosini Tsakiri, member of the Laboratory of Urban Composition of the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens.
The Urban Planning Laboratory has also taken over the scientific support of the exhibition in collaboration with a team of academics from the NTUA, PK, EAP, PADA and the Ionian University: Sofia Avgerinou Kolonia NTUA, Archontoula Vassilara NTUA, Socrates Yiannoudis Technical University of Crete, Andreas Kalakallas National Technical University of Athens, Maria Konomeni NAP, Nikolas Kourniatis PADA, Maria Markou NTUA, Phobos Mylonas Ionian University, Philippos Peristeris NTUA, Efrosini Tsakiri PADA, Eleni Hanioti NTUA.
The coordination and organization of the exhibition for the Ministry of the Interior was held by Marios Kostakis, Head of the General Directorate for Modern Culture, Anna Kalafataki, Head of the Department of Theater and Dance of the Directorate of Performing Arts and Cinema, and Eleni Andreou, Director of the European Programs Department, Collaboration and Promotion of Entrepreneurship of the Directorate for the Development of Modern Creation.
Responsible for the organization and coordination of the exhibition by the Ministry of Culture was Anna Kalafataki, who together with the curator collaborated in the conception and crystallization of the idea on the specific subject developed.
